Senior Mechanical Design Engineering Supervisor

Job description:
Machinelab Ltd require a Senior Mechanical Design Engineering supervisor to join our Expansion contribute to our ongoing success in the areas of Special purpose Machine building, Filling, Packaging.

🔑 Role Overview:

• Oversee the Design Department, including R&D and Concept Development.
• Enhance and manage work systems to meet User, Regulatory, and Legislative Requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the design process.
• Drive team productivity through effective risk and people management.
• Ensure quality control in design and manage corrective actions.
• Plan and prioritize departmental tasks using approved project methodologies and workflows.
• Lead the Design SCRUM Team alongside assigned deputies.
• Monitor and report on the status of all design projects.
• Oversee risk assessments and implement safety strategies.
• Ensure all design work aligns with company values.
• Provide pricing feedback to the Sales and Marketing Team.
• Lead and manage continuous improvement projects within the design department.
• Conduct and oversee internal and external design reviews.
• Implement and manage the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
• Stay informed about the latest technologies in the supply chain.
• Develop efficient multi-disciplinary design review systems.
• Conduct machine risk assessments using approved CE marking templates.
• Champion company values, ensuring GMP-compliant designs that prioritize ease of use, maintenance, repeatability, and efficiency.
• Manage technical and commercial risks in alignment with company processes and standards.
• Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the design process and post-installation.

• Detail-oriented, methodical, collaborative, and professional.
• Strong leadership skills with a commitment to quality and excellence.
• Excellent presentation and communication abilities.
• Minimum of 5 years in a senior mechanical design role within the special purpose Automation industry

🛠️ Key Skills:

• Strong experience in 3D CAD modeling (Solidworks preferred)
• Capability to create innovative concept proposals to challenging tasks
• Track record in designing mechanisms including the integration of technologies that perform reliably
• Ability to size mechanical systems to meet the demands of the equipment life cycle
• Have a clear understanding of safety requirements
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Excellent communication skills.
