Location: Machinelab Ltd, Wexford, County Wexford, Ireland
We require a Senior Leader in Mechanical Design with a 'Zero Defect Mindset' to join our team and be part of our ongoing success in the areas of automation and customised machine building for diagnostics, medical device and other regulated industries.Lead mechanical design across R&D and application projects, ensuring compliance with user, regulatory, and safety requirements. Drive quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while managing design risks and team performance.

Lead mechanical design projects and SCRUM team delivery

Manage design risks, safety assessments, and compliance (incl. CE marking)

Ensure quality control and oversee design reviews (internal & external)

Monitor project progress and report status

Support sales with pricing input

Drive continuous improvement within the design function

Maintain strong customer relationships through design and post-installation

Work with PDM systems and stay current with emerging technologies

Required Experience
-
5+ years in a senior mechanical design role (automation industry)

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
-
Detail-oriented with a collaborative, professional approach
- 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- Mechanism design and system integration
- Concept development and innovation
- Understanding of safety and lifecycle requirements
- Strong time management and prioritisation
